September 23, 2011 - World Class Art Exhibit in Bankstown!
A night of balance and equitability. All of this could have been a myth but it was a special night nonetheless. On the evening of September 23, 2011, opened its very First Exposition at the Fusion Corporate Offices in Bella Vista Norwest Business Park. The 28 –piece collection was the creation of mother-son visual artist team of Daisy Ann Gonzalez Cumming and Dennis Gonzalez. Daisy Ann comes from a heritage of artists being the daughter of painter-sculptor Felix Gonzalez (1912-1960?). Dennis Gonzalez is based in the Philippines who eventually stepped into prominence using an unusual method of palette knife painting.
The event started with the ribbon cutting by solicitor Jessie Diaz. The local Filipino media was well represented by Ang Kalatas newspaper and the Philippine Community Herald. The turnout was good and the guests found themselves not just looking but discussing the subject matters of the art pieces on display. The main hallway/ function room was filled with several abstracts and portraits, notably of Oprah Winfrey and Jimi Hendrix (Artist: Daisy Ann Gonzalez Cumming). There were three other function rooms which contained the Flower Collection (on show was the Sampaguita, Lily of the Valley and Woman with Poppies), the Sydney icons in abstract (the horse races and of course the Opera House during the Red Dust Day of 2009) and the last room had the extraordinary tube painting series all about the subject matter of the Bird of Paradise Flower. The extravagant tube painting method was innovated by Daisy Ann.
